I love vampire stories, and I was beyond excited when I found out that the audiobook of my new novel Fang Fiction would be narrated by Amber Benson of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (she’s also a super talented author and audiobook narrator).
Fang Fiction follows the story of a woman who gets to visit the world of her favorite vampire novels, so in other words, a woman after my own heart. And since there are so many amazing vampire audiobooks to immerse yourself in this spooky season, I wanted to recommend a few of my favorites. I hope you’ll consider ~ inviting them in ~ to your TBR list (see what I did there?).
Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice
If you’re interested in vampire stories, Anne Rice is the ne plus ultra–you can’t get better than her sexy, twisty, completely absorbing novels. Five minutes listening to this one, and you’ll be dreaming of creatures of the night slithering through New Orleans cemeteries beneath live oaks draped with Spanish moss.
Bride by Ali Hazelwood
If you like my novel, I think you’ll really enjoy Bride (and I hope the reverse is also true!). I love everything Ali writes, and it was such a pleasure to see how seamlessly she slipped into a paranormal story, creating her own lore, a riveting plot, and, of course, an extremely hot romance.
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Lots of vampire stories have fast-moving plots, but this book is so special for how much time it takes to luxuriate in every aspect of the world and its magic system. This may be the most vividly imagined story I’ve ever read, and if you’re interested in writing fantasy stories yourself, it’s extremely worth your time.

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
A brilliant young professor at Oxford who is actually a witch falls madly in love with a hot French vampire as they battle in a race against time to discover secrets that will unlock the past and future of their respective species?! Say less. Already obsessed. The All Souls Trilogy is so great, and if dark academia is your vibe, these stories will whisk you away to a world you’ll never want to leave.
My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine
If you’re looking for a cozy vampire rom-com that feels like a modern-day Jane Austen character just moved in with an undead Mr. Bingley, My Roommate Is a Vampire is an absolute delight (and definitely the least scary book on this list, though Bride is a close second!). If you love spooky season but are a bit of a scaredy-cat, this is definitely the vampire story for you.
🩸 Plus, don’t miss Fang Fiction
Tess Rosenbloom spends her nights managing a chic Brooklyn hotel and her days reading her favorite vampire novels, Blood Feud. She even dabbles in online conspiracies claiming Blood Feud is real. But deep down, Tess doesn’t believe vampires actually exist . . . until one walks through her door. Visiting the world of your favorite story is any fan’s dream, but can Tess outrun the demons of her past (and vampires of her present) before it becomes a nightmare?
