You recognize these books. You’re seeing them everywhere, and for good reason. James McBride’s The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store (narrated by Dominic Hoffman) was named Book of the Year by both Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Zadie Smith’s new historical fiction novel The Fraud has ignited critical acclaim, and her narration of the audiobook has earned an Earphones Award. And John Grisham’s sequel to his classic legal thriller The Firm—The Exchange—read by Edoardo Ballerini, is keeping fans on the very edge of their seats. In fact, it’s easy to get a little overwhelmed by all the tempting new releases this fall, so we’re keeping our list simple: listen to clips of these standout audiobooks (along with a few other fall biggies), and pick one to accompany you as you go about your autumnal business.
